DNG image format
The DNG (Digital Negative) file format was developed by Adobe to store "raw" image files from digital cameras. The aim was to consolidate the plethora of possible raw image data from different camera manufacturers. The format was launched in 2004 and is based upon the TIFF format. The format can deal with both lossy and lassless image storage. 1.6 specification document (December 2021)
