Description

The phong exponent gives the power distribution as a function of the angle with the surface normal. An exponent of 1 indicates a diffuse source.

Readers who can only handle diffuse sources should ignore the exponent.

Directional emission distribution

radiant intensity is proportional to cos^e theta where e is the phong exponent.
